Vijay Mallya says Force India showing great promise since Monaco Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Force India owner Vijay Mallya has said that his team is showing promising performance since the Monaco Grand Prix of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Mallya also mentioned that they were stronger in the Monaco race weekend, where the team driver Adrian Sutil finished his race at the seventh spot for them. After that, they made a lot of improvements in terms of their performances in the next race weekends
of the ongoing season.
In recently held German Grand Prix, Sutil showed great promise, as he started his race from the 8th place on the opening grid and ended up in the sixth spot after making a lot of struggle.
The Force India-Mercedes owner discussed the performance of their drivers, Sutil and Paul di Resta in Nürburgring. He mentioned that Sutil’s race finish ahead of both of the Mercedes GP drivers, Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher in Nürburgring was a great
success for them.
Mallya also talked about Paul di Resta. He stated that di Resta’s incident with Renault’s Nick Heidfeld during the German Grand Prix was a bad luck otherwise he could have also scored some points for them over there.
Talking to reporters, Mallya said, “What happened to Paul was clearly bad luck, no fault of his at all. Both drivers have said they are very happy with the car, happy with the team, and I was pretty happy to see a greatly improved step up in performance
on the pit wall today. The strategy was planned right and executed right, so I'm pleased.”
Apart from that, he discussed about the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix, which will start from July 29, 2011. He added that the team has some more developments for the next race weekend that will be tested during the Friday Free Practice session at the Hungaroring
race circuit.
He went on to say, “We have a small development for Hungary, we have a special Monza package, and we want to do some serious development in time for Singapore and beyond for the flyaway races. So I'm greatly encouraged.”
Let’s see how Sutil manages his race in Hungary this weekend following a positive German Grand Prix recently.
