  1. I had this problem and went to pre-made bobbins.  I tried the paper and plastic ones and like the plastic best.  It did help me and it was Worth the try.

  2. With my Viking embroidery machine, you can not change the tension while embroidering. The machine does it for you. Make sure you are using bobbin thread, not regular thread. Also change your needle. I would say you need a tune up on the machine. When mine was acting up I took it in and got a regular tune up and it work so much better when I got it back. Make sure to tell them about anything that is going wrong while you are sewing.

  3. I also have a Viking, currently having some bobbin difficulty, changed the thread?, the tension, looked in the Manuel.......decided to take it in for a overhaul........mine has been siting in its case for around 7 to 10 years............

Sorry, can't help, but gosh, I've even changed the needle several times, don't know what else it needs but a good over haul.............

    good luck w. yours............

  4. If too much bobbin thread shows, the culprit is usually that the upper thread tension is too tight . Try loosening the tension for the upper thread. Do it by small increments and test with each adjustment.
