Viktor Axelsen tames Pablo Abian in Men’s Singles first round at French Open Super Series
Denmark’s talented player Viktor Axelsen showed a strong performance in Men’s Singles first round when he outplayed Spain’s Pablo Abian in a dominating fashion at the Yonex French Open Super Series 2012 on Wednesday, October 24, at Paris, France.
The in-form Axelsen, who has been positioned at number 25 in Men’s Singles world ranking, put up a phenomenal show of top class badminton and remained successful in winning the battle in just 40 minutes.
Danish shuttler was in remarkable form on court as he took the bird early from all areas and managed to overpower his Spanish rival in straight sets with a striking margin on score board.
On the other hand, the un-seeded Spanish shuttler was in all sorts of trouble while playing against his in-form Danish opponent. He could not create pressure on Axelsen and lost to him without even getting close.
Axelsen showed an amazing aggression on court from the initial points of first set and set up a huge pressure on his Spanish challenger.
The impressive Danish player was incredibly comfortable in getting the bird early from all areas and he did not encounter any problem in earning points.

Axelsen sailed smoothly without facing any tough opposition from his opponent and won the first game with a stunning margin of 21-10.
The higher ranked Danish player did not lose his domination at any stage in the following set as he continued playing in aggressive fashion.
Until the one-minute break, the incredible Axelsen was in complete control of rallies and he employed variations in his shots which kept him in lead until the break.
After the mid-game interval, Axelsen was calm and composed and he managed to bag the second set with a superb margin of 21-15.
Axelsen won this first round encounter in straight games by taking just 40 minutes with a remarkable 21-10 and 21-15 total on the board.
