Zenit St. Petersburg and the Russian national team midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Viktor-Fayzulin-c36130, has assured the fans of extending their decent run after winning the upcoming second group stage qualifying match against the Israel national team
at the World Cup.
Fabio Capello’s men will lock horns with the blue and white at National stadium Ramat Gan on the back of an entertaining 2-0 win in the opening group stage match against the Irish team at Stadion Lokomotiv (Moscow) on Friday.
The last time these two teams met at Euro 2008 qualifiers, Israel managed to get a 2-1 win against d**k Advocaat’s team that reached the semi-finals of the European tournament later on.
However, Fayzulin believes that his side is capable of winning against any opponent under newly hired manager, Capello, and gave the example of banishing the stubborn Irish team at home.
The 26-year-old player, who played a key role for his side after dominating the centre of the field by moving the ball well around the pitch against the Purple and white, managed to score one before half-time and created one in
the second-half.
Fayzulin urged his team-mates to secure a top spot on the group table despite admitting that the Portugal national team are the favourites to lead the standings.
“I understand those who consider Portugal as the favourites to claim a top spot, although I personally believe that we are still too early to write off in the fight for first place. We will fight for sure. Hopefully with Israel,
we will try to play brighter as compared to the game we played against Northern Ireland. I believe we can win the match," the former Spartak Nalchik man was quoted as saying.
Fayzulin went on to draw similarities between Fabio Capello and Zenit’s manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luciano-c22574 Spalletti, saying that both the Italian managers share similarities in the course of the game as they are both hungry to win games.
