Kuzkin won gold medals with the Soviet Union teams at three Winter Olympics from 1964-72, and eight world championships.

The Moscow-born defenseman played 169 times for the USSR, scoring 18 goals, and was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame in 2005.

The IIHF said Kuzkin died Tuesday of heart failure following a diving accident at the Black Sea resort of Sochi in Russia, which will host the 2014 Winter Olympics.

    Kuzkin also represented the Soviet Union at the 1972 Summit Series

    My heart's fine, my brain's fine...........my knees and joints could be better though.  Not yet needing a cane though

  9. It's a shame, sh*t happens. I know this all too well, I almost kicked the bucket several times from VSD (ventricular septal defect).
