Viktor Troicki prevails over Jesse Huta Galung in the second round – World Tennis Tournament 2012
Seventh seed, Viktor Troicki, got the better of Dutch Jesse Huta Galung  in straight sets, 7-6(2), 6-3, to move to the last eight at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam, Netherlands on Thursday. It was not as
easy win for Troicki as the score suggests. The Serbian needed two hours and one minutes to win the match.
The opener did not see both players breaking each other. Troicki and Huta Galung held their serves throughout the set to level the scores at 6-6, taking it to a tie-break. The Serbian, Troicki, managed to claim an early mini-break
and bagged another one later to win the set 7-6(2).
The 26-year-old crushed Huta Galung with his blistering serve game. Troicki smashed nine aces and delivered 73 percent of the first deliveries. The Serbian succeeded in saving all the three break points he faced in the opening
set.
Troicki made a great start in the second, claiming first four games to go ahead 4-0. Huta Galung managed to get one break back in the sixth game but he lost his serve again in the ninth to go down 3-6.
Ranked 24th in the world, Troicki could not serve as fiercely as he did in the opening set. However, the Serbian improved his return game, bagging a total of 50 percent of the points on them. The Serbian
managed to convert three of the ten break points he received.
Troicki is coming fresh from his Davis Cup win against Sweden. The Serbian defeated Filip Prpic in straight sets 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 in the first rubber of the tie.
The Belgrade, Serbia resident had mixed results at the start of the season. He reached the last eight at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open, losing to Gael Monfils 2-6, 3-6. The right-hander disappointed his fans at the first grand
slam of the season, as he was upset by Kazakh Mikhail Kukushkin in a marathon match 7-5, 4-6, 2-6, 6-4, 3-6 in the round of 64 match of the Australian Open.
Troicki is drawn to face third seed Juan Martin Del Potro in the quarterfinal. The Argentinean, Del Potro, beat Karol Beck of Slovakia in the second round.
