http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Barcelona-c39078 team trainer Tito Vilanova has stressed that Lionel Messi’s absence was not due to any injury during the return leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich last night. He claimed that he would
have come on in the second-half if Barca dominated and scored a few goals.
The Argentine star was a shock omission from the side’s first team against Der FCB, with a lot of people saying that he sustained a recurrence of his hamstring injury before the 3-0 loss. Nevertheless, this turned out to be wrong
as the boss told what he had in mind.
Messi was supposed to come after the break if they had an opportunity to make it to the final on May 25 at Wembley. He stated that the star player was not injured but was not match fit. As a result of this, the Spanish side would
not have benefitted from him starting the game.
"Messi was not injured, but he was not feeling okay, and I thought that in his situation he would not help the team," he added.
On the other hand, he further added that he played against Bilbao as he was in a better state but got tired at the end of the match.

"He played in Bilbao because he was in much better condition, but at the end of the game he contracted some strange sensations,” he mused.

"We would have taken the risk of playing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leo-c22011 towards the end of the match if we still had a chance of making the final," he said.

"Bayern are physically at a great level. The difference today between the sides was massive and I congratulate them on their progression,” he continued.
Tito suggested he could have risked Messi at the end of the game. Moreover, he admitted that his side were outshined by Die Roten as they were in great run of form. Also he said that massive changes are not needed at the Camp Nou.
