Under the Tito Vilanova era, there were fans and pundits who labeled Barcelona as ‘lucky’ as they were getting results on the basis of luck, but Vilanova believes that is not the case.
Barcelona have been winning a lot of games recently and the fans believe that the Catalan giants are only lucky that they are getting such positive results.
After losing the best coach in their history, La Blaugrana decided to appoint Tito Vilanova as their coach and since his arrival almost everything is going perfectly for the Spanish giants.
Barcelona are currently right at the top of the Spanish La Liga.
Even though they lost the Spanish Super Cup to their arch-rivals, Real Madrid, the Catalan giants have not lost a single game in La Liga and they are currently joint top with Atletico Madrid in the domestic title race.
Moreover, Barcelona have also managed to win all the games in the UEFA Champions League and even though the performances have not been very satisfactory, Barcelona have been winning their games in order to take the all-important three points.
Since the ‘lucky’ tag was given to Barcelona, Tito Vilanova dismissed all such notions and stated that all of this is not true and the Catalan giants work hard in order to get good results.
While speaking about his team, the Catalan boss said:
“I don’t think it was luck. On the contrary, I thought we were unlucky. We deserved to win before that, their goalkeeper played very well and we hit a post.”
“We had the possession and the opportunities but they were powerful on the counter-attack and in the air. We then played with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 at centre-forward and with two wide men, although that did not mean we could neglect the defence.”
Barcelona have also been given the ‘boring’ tag but Vilanova believes that the previous tag has now been lifted as they have finally started playing their entertaining football.
While speaking about http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, Tito Vilanova said:
“Well, they have accused us of being boring before now. Not anymore.”
