The first team assistant coach will took over managerial duties from the outgoing Pep Guardiola, and distanced himself from the Camp Nou favourite.
Pep Guardiola vacated the position of Barcelona head coach at the end of 2011/12 Spanish top flight campaign, bringing an end to four glorious years that added silverware galore to the trophy cabinet at the Camp Nou.
Guardiola’s assistant, Tito Vilanova, will take over the managerial duties for the coming season after being handed a two year contract. Vilanova has a tall order on his hands as he beckons on a journey to succeed the trophy laden campaigns of his predecessor.
Comparisons between the duo have already started with players and other associated individuals talking in the media about their respective qualities.
With two weeks remaining before the official start of the transfer window and Vilanova’s time at the Camp Nou hot seat, the young trainer took out time to talk about his plans.

Moreover, Vilanova added that he has lived through the ups and downs that Guardiola faced and believes he has it in them to repeat the success they achieved in the last four years.
La Masia academy graduate admitted that the road ahead of them is difficult but revealed that the players have the motivation to win every match they participate in and fight for all the titles they are involved in.

"I've been very fortunate to have won all those titles in four years. We're going to have the opportunity to repeat that, but it's going to be very difficult.”
