The Dutch legend has stressed upon the fact that Barca’s newly named head coach must be given time before any judgement is passed.
Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 player and manager, Johan Cruyff, is of the opinion that the club’s new manager, Tito Vilanova, will need time to prove himself at the helm of affairs.
Cruyff has insisted that there is only one way to find out whether the board of directors at the Spanish giants have the made the right decision or not and that is to allow Vilanova a fair chance and time.
The man who served as Pep Guardiola's assistant at the Nou Camp outfit for four years was named the new manager of the Catalan giants.
The announcement came as a result of Guardiola’s decision to part ways with the footballing juggernauts.
After a reign of four years at the Catalan giants, the Spanish tactician finally decided to lower the curtain over his career with Barcelona. As a result, the club were forced to look for a replacement, which came in the shape of Vilanova.
Although several members of the Barca squad are still moaning about the departure of their soon-to-be former head coach, most of them believe that the club have made the right decision.
The fact that the Catalans have appointed someone who is familiar with the tactics of the team is bound to favour the FIFA Club World Cup title holders.
However, it is understandable to conclude that things may not be the same under Vilanova, as they were under Guardiola.
The latter led the team to a host of titles during his stay at the club and is recognized as one of the most successful managers in the history of La Blaugrana. His reign over the club saw them accomplish 13 trophies in four years.
Consequently, Johan Cruyff has emphasized that the side may have to prepare themselves for a change.
While talking to reporters, the 65-year-old was quoted as saying:
“I hear too much about Tito. We must wait to see his results before coming to a judgement. I hope that we don’t bury him right away and that we give him a chance.”
At the moment, Barcelona are preparing for their Copa del Rey final clash against Athletic Bilbao. The match will take place at the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vicente-c36001 Calderon on May 25.
