http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 will be taking on Granada over the weekend; however, the fans are only thinking about El Clasico, which is scheduled to take place next month.
The Catalan boss, Tito Vilanova, has stressed that he is not thinking about the game against Real Madrid yet as Barcelona’s next opponents are not Real Madrid, but Granada.
La Blaugrana have started the season in the most perfect way possible, winning all four of the games which they have played.
On the other hand, their arch-rivals, Real Madrid, trail eight points behind them.
The current Spanish champions, Real Madrid, drew their first game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863. Later, they faced Getafe and even though they were favourites to win the tie, they lost the match 2-1 while being away from home.
It was the first of the few shocks which have come their way till now.
After winning against Granada, everyone thought that Madrid are finally back on track. However, they faced Sevilla in their recent fixture and lost the game 1-0 against the Spanish underdogs.
Since Madrid are trailing behind Barcelona at the moment, the only way they can get back into the league is by beating the Catalan giants. Therefore, there is a lot of anticipation attached to the fixture.
However, Tito Vilanova has clearly stated that he is not thinking about El Clasico at the moment.
While speaking about the game against the current Spanish champions, Vilanova said:
“I am not thinking about the Clasico. What concerns me is reaching 15 points from a possible 15 this weekend.”
“It has not been done many times in history. In my head there is only Granada, Granada and Granada. I am not thinking about Real Madrid, it’s like you asking me about the game in Madrid in the second round of fixtures.”
“Against Granada, the incentive is to win, not to think that we move 11 ahead of Madrid. As it is not up to us it is not worth wasting time.”
“I have seen games of Granada’s and they are organised and do very well on the counter-attack.”
Barcelona will be facing Granada on this weekend and want to win the fixture to keep the pressure on Real Madrid.
