During the game between Deportivo La Coruna and Barcelona, the referee made a few mistakes in his decisions but Tito Vilanova refused to speak about them during the post-match press conference.
Barcelona faced Deportivo La Coruna over the weekend, while being away from home.
While many thought that the fixture will end in favour of La Blaugrana and they will easily beat their opponents; that was definitely not the case.
The Catalan giants travelled away from home to meet Deportivo and they were able to score three goals within the first twenty minutes.
It seemed obvious that La Blaugrana will win the game from there, but soon the tides turned and right after Deportivo were given a penalty by the referee, the home team started to come back into the game.
The Spanish giants were winning 4-1 during half-time and not many thought that the home team will make a comeback.
However, they eventually did when the Argentinean centre-back, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Mascherano-c18071, was given a red card.
The former Argentinean captain saw a second yellow for his challenge on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Riki-c31157. Even though the Deportivo player ran into the back of Javier Mascherano, referee thought of it as a bookable offense and gave him a second yellow.
Many thought that it was a harsh decision taken by the referee; however, Tito Vilanova said that he does not want to speak about the referee when he was questioned during the post-match press conference.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 won the game 4-5 with Messi scoring a hat-trick once again. Therefore, there was not much which Vilanova wanted to say to the match official and while speaking after the game, Vilanova said:
“In four years with the first team I do not remember playing as often with 10 men. It happened at the Bernabeu and again here. I do not want to talk about the referee.”
“I say that people can see things on their TV. Yes I surprised for the goal and the yellow card shown to [Fabregas] on the bench for celebrating.”
Barcelona will now be facing Celtic in the UEFA Champions League during the midweek.
