The Barcelona manager’s surgery has gone well according to reports and the coach has stated that he might be making a swift comeback to the Camp Nou outfit.
The official website of the Catalan club yesterday certified that their club’s head coach had suffered a relapse of the same disease that had occurred almost an year back.
November of 2011 saw the then Barcelona assistant manager, suffer a cancerous growth and it meant that he would be kept out of all his football associated responsibilities for some time.
The disease was reported to be a cancerous growth in Vilanova’s throat, associated mainly to a parotid glandular problem, and the malignant tumor was removed via a surgery.
Wednesday saw the Catalan club surrounded in dis-belief, as there was wide talk of Tito’s problem resurfacing again. The Barcelona board confirmed the well-circulated rumour and according to latest reports, a surgery was conducted on Thursday morning to
remove the malignant piece of tumour.
The Blaugrana board later confirmed that the surgery had gone well and according to plans and that they could expect a swift return to action for their manager.
"I will be away for a while but I will be back soon," Barcelona sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo quoted Vilanova as telling his players the night before he went in for surgery to his salivary gland

Vilanova had stepped up for the Barca manager’s post at the end of last season, as former manager Pep Guardiola had decided to part ways with the club, following an extremely successful tenure.
Vilanova has done extremely well with his start to an illustrious managerial career as he has led Barcelona in breaking several records and has also kept them at the top of La Liga standings, holding a 9 point lead over 2nd placed Atletico Madrid.
