Barcelona won the match 3-2 against Sevilla despite going two goals down and the win involved a red card for a Sevilla player and Vilanova believes that sending the player off was the right decision made by the referee.
Barcelona faced Sevilla in the Spanish La Liga and there was a lot of anticipation attached to the fixture.
The Catalan giants have been performing phenomenally throughout the season and even though they lost the Supercopa de Espana against their arch-rivals, Real Madrid, they haven’t lost a single game in the Spanish La Liga, making them the favourites to win
the title this season.
Currently, Barcelona are eleven points above their arch-rivals, Real Madrid, and that is the reason why they are expected to win the Spanish La Liga this time round.
However, the reason why Madrid have lost a few points is also Sevilla and they were the ones playing Barcelona over the past weekend.
Many thought that since Sevilla were able to win against the current La Liga champions, Real Madrid, they might win the fixture against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 as well.
Sevilla were able to live up to their expectations of being tough opponents as they took a two-goal lead over Barcelona.
However, a few bad decisions and a good attack by the Spanish giants was able to help the Catalan giants take all three points as they won the game 3-2 at the end of the day.
There were two bad refereeing decisions taken during the game and Tito Vilanova spoke about one of them, which saw http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Medel-c14446 being red carded.
Medel ‘apparently’ head butted Cesc Fabregas and was given his marching orders by the referee.
While speaking about the game against Sevilla and the red card given to Medel, Tito Vilanova said:
“If a player tries to head butt an opponent then it is a red card, here or anywhere else.”
Barcelona have now won each and every game they have played in the Spanish La Liga and are currently eleven points above Real Madrid, the team which they will be facing in La Liga next weekend.
El Clasico, scheduled next week, is considered to be the title decider in the Spanish La Liga every season.
