The youngster was phenomenal throughout the last campaign and even though many thought that he might be on his way out of the club, Vilanova has put his trust in him.
Isaac Cuenca is one of Barcelona’s most promising youngsters. Coming out of La Masia, Cuenca simply proves that Barcelona are still not done with making quality players in their youth academy.
Cuenca is Barcelona’s latest breed of players who are coming out of La Masia, and following him is the young winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristian-c9491 Tello, who also managed to impress the fans last season.
Josep Guardiola always put his faith in Cuenca and often fielded him during big matches. Cuenca was also in the starting line-up when Barcelona faced http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in the semi-final stage of the UEFA Champions League.
Even though Barcelona lost the game, it was Cuenca who created the goal-scoring opportunity for the Spanish giants and that helped Barcelona equalize the score-line.
Recently there were reports which suggested that Isaac Cuenca might be on his way out of the Spanish club. However, with Tito Vilanova coming on as the new Barcelona coach, he has put faith in the young footballer and wants him to continue at the Nou Camp.
Isaac Cuenca has revealed that Vilanova has his faith in him and that is why he will continue playing in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
While speaking to the club’s official website, Cuenca said:
"Every coach is different. They all want a certain kind of player, but Tito has said he’s counting on me, so I'm happy,"
Cuenca is currently going through a knee injury and it is still not fully recovered. Speaking about his injury and his future at Barcelona, Cuenca stated:
"The most important thing is for my knee to get better. I hope to be fit as soon as possible and be able to help the team play some good games."
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 returning to the first-team after the summer break, Cuenca will definitely find it hard to make way into the first-team. Last season Villa was injured while Sanchez also picked up some knocks and that is the reason why Cuenca and Tello got
their chances in the first-team.
However, this season is going to be different from the previous ones, not only because of the players returning, but also because of the new coach, Tito Vilanova.
