The Dutch legend believes that La Blaugrana’s new mentor will need to make his own unique mark on the club.
Former Barcelona manager, Johan Cruyff, has stated that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604’s head coach for the next season, Tito Vilanova, will need to put his own stamp on the current Spanish champions in order to achieve success.
Cruyff was of the opinion that every manager is unique in his own way and stressed that bringing innovation to the club instead of following your predecessor’s footsteps is the key to accomplishment.
The veteran coach, who also enjoyed a successful stint with Barca as a player, emphasized that everything needs to be taken into perspective and Vilanova will have to cater to many different things at the Nou Camp.
He reiterated that it is preferable for the Spaniard to handle things in his own way.
The former Ajax boss also claimed that the new mentor for the Spanish giants will have to pick things up from where Guardiola left them.
Last Friday brought the news that shook the world of football, as Pep Guardiola spoke of his departure from Barcelona at the end of the current season.
Soon after the media was informed about Guardiola's future, La Blaugrana announced that their current assistant coach, Tito Vilanova, will take over the reins at the Nou Camp.
Football experts and purists believe that it is an excellent decision to bring in Vilanova as he is aware of the club’s philosophy.
On the other hand, Johan Cruyff has expressed that the new manager can be successful as long as he is able to guide things correctly.
While talking to reporters, the 65-year-old was quoted as saying:
"When you are in charge you have to see how it goes. It depends on the philosophy, (former president Joan) Laporta, (former director of football Txiki) Beguiristain and Guardiola are no longer there. There are different views, new opinions and every detail
is important.”
"Every year you have to look at a piece, (Eric) Abidal is sick, (David) Villa will return (from injury) up front and he has a lot of quality. Villanova has to guide things."
With the legacy that Pep Guardiola leaves behind him, will Tito Vilanova be able to lead Barcelona to greater success? We can only find out.
