The newly appointed Barcelona manager knows that it is difficult to continue the success achieved by Guardiola, but admits that if the players try, they can achieve greatness.
Last season Barcelona did not only lose the Spanish La Liga title and the UEFA Champions League; in fact, they also lost one of the best managers in their history, Josep Guardiola.
Guardiola helped the Catalan giants win 14 titles under his three-year tenure at the Spanish club, and there is no doubt that he cemented his name in La Blaugrana’s history books.
There has been no other manager at the Nou Camp who has achieved so much in a matter of three years, but last season http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 were not the same as they were when Guardiola stepped up as their manager.
The Catalan giants took a few bumps on the road as their players were out injured and then they had to surrender the league title at the hands of Real Madrid, and the Champions League trophy at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
When Guardiola decided to leave his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 in order to take a break from football, La Blaugrana decided to appoint his assistant coach, Tito Vilanova as their manager.
The new Barcelona manager now believes that even though it will be quite difficult for them to continue on the path of glory, he is still going to try his best in the upcoming season.
Despite Guardiola’s departure, Barcelona are still a force to reckon as Vilanova is considered to be Guardiola’s twin in terms of tactics.
While speaking about the upcoming season, Tito Vilanova said:
"We've had four and a half years of glory. It is always difficult to prolong the cycle, but this is what we are going to try to do, for a few more years.”

"We are going to try and play in the best way, just like we have been doing in the last few years."
La Blaugrana are currently playing their pre-season friendly games and have already won the game against PSG. The Catalan giants will now be facing the Premier League side, Manchester United, on the 8th of August.
