Villa believes Madrid can be beaten calmly
The best striker in the history of Spanish football, David Villa, believes that Barcelona can calmly beat their arch rivals Real Madrid in the up-coming El Clasico. Villa also accepted the fact that Getafe won the match because of their brilliant defensive
approach towards the game.
Villa is adamant over the fact that his side will be able to win the must-win Clasico which is scheduled to take place on December 10th.
Barcelona won their weekend fixture against Getafe. It was an important match for the Spanish Champions and they lost the game 1-0 as they went to play Getafe away from home. With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 losing and Real Madrid winning 4-1 against Atletico Madrid, Barcelona
are now six points behind Los Blancos.
A six-point gap in La Liga is very hard to cover and the Catalan goalkeeper Victor Valdes accepted that fact. However, David Villa still has trust in his team and he believes that Barcelona can narrow the gap by winning the El Clasico about to take place
at Santiago Bernabeu.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 was quoted saying:
"This is not over, soon we will have a match against them [Madrid] and we can beat them calmly and that is what we have to think about."
While talking about a considerable lead in the favour of Madrid, he said:
"It is a shame that we are now this far from the leader."
David Villa agreed that Getafe’s defensive approach led them to a narrow win against Barcelona. He accepted how well the other team defended despite Barcelona getting a few crucial chances in the game. He said:
"Getafe closed down very well, just like every team has been doing, we had good chances but their keeper played very well.”
Villa then talked about how things went from being bad to worse after Getafe scored their only goal of the game. He said:
"They scored a goal from a corner and things became much harder then. I am not one to make excuses, but we could not score and the whole Getafe team was at the back.
David Villa now wants his side to concentrate against Rayo Vallecano as they play them on Tuesday. He said:
"We have to go match by match, win against Rayo Vallecano on Tuesday and go step by step."
