The Heerenveen striker has been staging scintillating shows since the start of the ongoing 2012/13 season, and the Villa boss Paul Lambert has reportedly set his sights on signing the Icelandic ace as Darrent Bent’s replacement in the upcoming January
transfer window.
Reports in English and Dutch media suggest that Aston Villa are taking keen interest in signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alfreð-Finnbogason-c4997, in the upcoming January transfer market.
The Villans head coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Lambert, is in the market in search of a prolific striker in a bid to strengthen his side’s front-line that has thus far failed to make an impact in the ongoing 2012/13 campaign.
And the former Norwich City boss has set his sights on luring the 23-year-old striker to Villa Park in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Finnbogason arrived at Abe Lenstra Stadion before the start of the ongoing 2012/13 season after making only 22 appearances for Lokeren during his two years stay at Daknamstadion.
However, the Icelandic has made headlines for all the good reasons since his arrival after putting in scintillating shows week in week out. Having already netted more than 10 goals halfway through the campaign, the 23-year-old has proved to be a genuine
menace for every opposition in the Dutch top flight.
Meanwhile, the Villans striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Bent-c10358, seems to be on the verge of leaving the English Premier League outfit in the upcoming winter transfer market, and Lambert has earmarked Finnbogason as a perfect replacement for the 28-year-old striker.
The Icelandic ace has an ongoing contract at Abe Lenstra Stadion that runs until the summer of 2015. Reports indicate that the Heerenveen management does not want to let go of their striker halfway through the season. However, an offer in the region of four
million Euros could prove to be too tempting to turn down.
Aston Villa have also reportedly expressed interest in signing Celta Vigo striker, Iago Aspas, who has also attracted interest from Swansea City and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429. However, the 25-year-old hit-man, who has thus far netted 40 goals in over 100 games for La Liga
outfit, will not be available on the cheap.
