Villarreal board gives Juan Carlos Garrido its vote of confidence – La Liga news
Villarreal have made a poor start to the season, as the UEFA Champions League participating team are currently placed at 12th position in La Liga standings.
However, contrary to expectations, the board has given its support to the manager despite the dismal start.

In a recent interview with Radio Vila-real, Roig reaffirmed his support for the beleaguered manager and showed his disappointment with attitude of the supporters.
During an interview, a clearly annoyed Roig said: “I am quite sure we will succeed with Garrido on the bench. We have a fantastic Coach and the fans take out their frustrations on the weakest, which is always the Coach, but I am the one who is solely responsible.
If they want me to go they can tell me and I’ll go,”
He added that he understands the feelings of the supporters but did not believe that they should be so rash in their judgement.
The manager has guided the team excellently and such behaviour is unfitting in return of his services, the president believes.
Roig added that such banter will go unheard as he is unwilling to let go of such a prized asset. The 42-year-old has been with the club since 1999 and has done a great job.
“It was incredible that last year we qualified for the Champions League. If we are bad I don’t know what the rest are like,” the president continued in the support of his manager.
Garrido came through the ranks of Villarreal, biding his time with the reserve and youth teams as he progressed upwards.
While Roig has given Garrido his backing for the time being, the manager needs to steady the ship or risk losing his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 after more than a decade with the club.
