Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has hailed the attacking performance of his players after last night’s 3-1 over Greek side Panathinaikos in the Europa League.
The Portuguese hailed his team’s attacking capabilities after last night’s impressive win over Greek outfit Panathinaikos. Tottenham failed to win top spot in their group, but still go through to the next stages of the tournament, finishing behind group

It is no secret that the manager thinks highly of the Europa League, especially after having won it two seasons ago with Porto. Villas-Boas has placed the utmost importance on the tournament and has targeted winning it with Tottenham.
Last season under Harry Redknapp, Tottenham had focused on the Premier League, hoping to secure a top four finish for the Champions League. The former manager fielded out a second string team in Europa and never really gave it that much importance.
Villas-Boas however thinks otherwise, and has given the tournament high priority, insisting that it remains one of Europe’s most elite competitions.

The win books a place for the North London club in the final 32 of the competition, much to the delight of Villa-Boas, who has now seen his team go on a run of 4 successive victories. Speaking to the press after the game, the manager said:
“The problem was 1-0 wasn’t enough. They had determination and motivation to get a result. But we played really well and had opportunities. We wanted to go to 2-0 before 1-1, but didn’t manage that. We felt a little bit of anxiety but managed to get the
result which was fair.”
“We’ve been scoring a lot of goals and I think the team is the second best attacking team in the Premier League. We create chances and we took our chances.”
Spurs qualify at the expense of Panathinaikos, and keeps their momentum running going into the weekend’s clash against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 at Goodison Park in the Premier League.
