The manager’s delight was plain to see at the end of the 90 minutes as Tottenham celebrated their first win in the English top flight this season.
Tottenham hosted Queens Park Rangers at White Hart Lane in a must win game for the North London club. The home side had fallen behind before half time courtesy of a Bobby http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zamora-c40983 goal, and had not looked like they were going to be much of a threat for the
visitors.

Tottenham has been booed off the pitch at half time, and the pressure was back on the manager to deliver. The Portuguese’s half-time talk worked, as Tottenham managed to grab a goal back through Steven Caulker, and slowly began to get back into the game.
The manner in which Caulker scored was unfortunate for the visitors, who were so shell shocked by conceding it that they quickly went on to let another in.
Gareth Bale’s ran down the left wing and fired a shot at goal. His strike was saved by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359 on the rebound. Tottenham had taken the lead, despite looking like the lesser of the two teams for greater
periods of the game.
Villas-Boas was a relieved man at the end of the 90 minutes as he spoke to the press about his first home win.
"We have wanted this home win for some time but for whatever reason it has escaped us," Villas-Boas said.
"It's an important win for the team. We wanted to repay the fans for the trust they have put in us so that's why everyone felt emotional at the end. It was a good win."
"In the first half we couldn't get our game right, but in the second half the players really pushed up and changed to another level and it made all the difference in the end. The focus and desire paid off."
