Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has urged his team to bounce back from last week’s 2-1 defeat against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043, and expects a response against Swansea City on Sunday.
The manager was disappointed after his team lost the game to Everton in the manner they did. Tottenham had take the lead at Goodison Park through a Clint Dempsey strike, and looked set to seal the victory as stoppage time approached.
However, Everton grabbed the three points from right under Tottenham’s nose, and defeated them in a dramatic last minute victory. Goals from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nikica-Jelavic-c27906 had earned the Toffees a significant victory which has now moved them up to 4th
place at the expense of Spurs.
Villas-Boas is confident his players can bounce back from the last-gasp victory by getting a result against Swansea City when they visit White Hart Lane on Sunday.
The Portuguese manager admitted that the loss against Everton was a ‘difficult’ experience, and hard to take for both the managerial staff and the players. However, he has urged his side to use their disappointment by getting a result against Swansea and
bounce back to winning ways.
The manager said:
“The dressing room was extremely disappointed after Everton. To see the result shift and us to take nothing was difficult. The boys came into training this week with desire and wanted to improve. I approach the players as individuals and I know we can bounce
back.
“We take the blame for the first half and how we suffered with goals, but we learn from it and we evolve as players and as a manager. When a defeat happens there are always things to analyse. We worked on aspects that didn’t go well last week like keeping
possession and our defensive shape.”
The manager then went on to praise the in-from Swansea team, and hailed the impact that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup has had at the club ever since he arrived in the summer.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 boss hailed Swansea’s attacking football, their star player Michu and credited Laudrup for taking Swansea to the ‘next level’. Sunday's encounter is set to be a thrilling football spectacle as both teams target 3 points.
