Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas hailed the attitude of his players as the club finally clinched its first home win in the Premier League against Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 in a 2-1 score line.
The manager was full of praise for his team as he lauded their comeback after a strong second half against QPR. Tottenham had gone down in the first half courtesy of a Bobby http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zamora-c40983 goal, but came back strong after half time and scored two goals in quick
succession, sealing all three points for Villas-Boas.
The manager was visibly delighted to have won his first home game in charge of the club, and relieved to have seen most of the pressure lifted off him.
Tottenham had failed to win a home game ever since the competitive season started. Their first win in the league came at the Madejski Stadium against Reading, but a home victory eluded them.
They failed in the Europa League against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775, and many expected them to fail against QPR. However, the team fought hard, no matter how unconvincingly, and managed to come back against their London rivals.
Speaking to the media in his post-game press conference, the manager said:
"[It was a] good, important win for the players who put all the effort in. All credit to them.”
"We believed and the players showed great commitment. We pushed them further forward at half time and closed the gaps. The players showed great desire and commitment today to win for the fans. All credit to them."
