Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas is looking to avenge his Chelsea exit when he faces his former employers this Saturday at White Hart Lane.
The London derby is the game to watch out for this weekend, as league leaders Chelsea travel to White Hart Lane to face Tottenham Hotspur.
Andre Villas-Boas is looking to become the first manager who ends http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786’s unbeaten run in the league this season as he prepares his in-form team for the game against the European champions.
The 34-year old Portuguese manager was in charge of Chelsea last season following his successful spell as Porto manager. Villas-Boas had led Porto to the Portuguese quadruple, winning all domestic titles and the Europa League in his first ever senior managerial endeavour.
This spell triggered the manager’s status and he gradually rose to prominence. However, he was not able to replicate the same success with Chelsea as he tried to instil his football philosophy at Stamford Bridge.
Villas-Boas was sacked after only 6 months into his appointment as he failed to make an impact at the club. The manager did face constant opposition from the senior Chelsea players as he attempted to change things up at the Bridge.
Tottenham is an entirely different story, as Villas-Boas looks to finally have settled in at his role with the club. He has led Tottenham to 4 consecutive wins in the league, and is looking to continue this run as he targets a victory over Chelsea.
Spurs won their last game 2-0 against Aston Villa at home, and went into this month’s international break oozing with confidence. With a number of key players returning from injury, and others in top form, Tottenham look all set to cause an upset. Reflecting on the Aston Villa game, and the upcoming Chelsea clash, a delighted Villas-Boas said:
"This gives us the opportunity to play the league leaders at home, undefeated for a while and with a good chance to go nearer the top.”
"It is obviously going to be a difficult game but we are showing a good level of competence"
"They have a lot of very young, dynamic players but so do we; and we are playing very well right now. This is a very good moment for us to play them."
