Villas-Boas on the verge of pulling a Carlo Ancelotti as he claims Nicolas Anelka to leave Chelsea - Part 1
It seems inevitable that striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Salomon-Kalou-c32266, the club was not willing to negotiate with Anelka.
Andre Villas-Boas said while speaking to reporters earlier this month:
“The most important thing is for the club to try to defend its interests. We know these players are of higher importance.
That's why the offers are on the table, apart from with Anelka, end of story. We will try to get them to reach an agreement.”
Almost every Chelsea supporter will be sad to see Anelka leave and many will compare it with the untimely departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 due to highly controversial red cards.
It was then that Villas-Boas felt the need to bring on Anelka, the only experienced striker in the absence of Drogba and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707, who was sidelined due to suspension. Anelka seemed to bring life to the Chelsea side that was clearly struggling. While Anelka may have failed to score, he played a crucial role in ensuring the home side were under pressure at all times and that his side did not concede any further goals.
If anything can help change Villas-Boas’ mind about Anelka, it will be the striker’s superb performance in very difficult circumstances. He has shown that he is capable of maintaining his cool when Drogba doesn’t, having been sent off previously on more important occasions. It will be crucial to keep another experienced striker in the ranks while the younger ones develop, but since the Portuguese manager has made up his mind it seems safe to assume Anelka will no longer be at the Bridge past next summer.
The question now is where the 32-year-old Frenchman will head off to, having spent more than four years at the London club. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international made it clear he wished to remain with the Blues, surprising for someone like him to make such claims, having been with eight different clubs since making his senior debut with Paris Saint Germain in the 1996-1997 season.
With the winter transfer window being some two months away, Anelka has been linked with a host of European clubs. The likes of Anzhi Makhachkala and AC Milan are reportedly in the lead for securing a deal with Anelka, if he does indeed leave Chelsea. Both sides have made their interests known, and it is now up to the Blues to make the final decision of where Anelka ends up at.
Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala have made quite a reputation for buying big name players for ridiculous amounts of money and then offering them record breaking salaries. According to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 and Neymar were also mentioned by the Brazilian, who is intent on making Anzhi Makhachkala the next Real Madrid.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 said in an interview:
“Anelka is not the only player, Nene from PSG and Van Persie from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Neymar-c27639? I talked to him.”
He continued:
“If Real, Barca or Manchester United cannot pay the transfer fee, we will pay it. Suleyman Kerimov can offer what he wants.”
