Villas-Boas on the verge of pulling a Carlo Ancelotti as he claims http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicolas-Anelka-c27786 to leave Chelsea - Part 2
If Anelka decides to leave for the Russian club to join teammate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yuri-Zhirkov-c37683, he will have an easy stay there until he finally decides to retire. While a big pay check will be guaranteed, regular first team football will not be, which is why the Frenchman
could consider joining the Serie A giants AC Milan. Depending on his form, Anelka could very well go on to play as the first choice striker for the Italian side until, something that could tempt him more than the larger pay check promised at Anzhi Makhachkala.
It is important to look at Anelka’s contributions for the Blue, a club he joined in the January transfer window of 2008 for a fee of £15 million from Bolton Wanderers. He had previously spent time with various Premier League sides, which is why he
had no trouble adjusting with the London side, scoring his debut goal in the FA Cup competition. However, after a goal in the Premier League against Portsmouth in early February, Anelka failed to score again that season.
He returned with a vengeance next season, scoring a total of 25 goals in all competitions, with 19 in the English Premier League to earn him the Golden Boot for the 2008-2009 season. Since then he became somewhat of a regular in the Chelsea squad,
but failed to follow up his success he managed in his first full season at the club. He scored 15 and 16 goals in all competitions the following seasons, respectively and so far has managed one goal in the current term.
Like Drogba, Anelka has a certain attachment to the London club, something he has never claimed in the past. If he wishes to end his career at Stamford Bridge, why must he be denied the chance to do while Drogba is encouraged to do the same It seems
rather unfair the difference in which the two senior striker are being treated.
Anelka has gone on record to confirm that while he was aware of the interest by other sides he was currently happy to continue on with Chelsea. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 striker revealed he was happy with the London side, which is why he had stayed with them
for as long as he had. Despite facing increasing competition from within the squad, Anelka revealed he was willing to stay and fight for place in the starting XI.
Anelka confirmed:
“I am linked everywhere but, when you are linked, it doesn't mean you want to leave.
I like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and first of all wanted to stay - that's why I am still here.”
He added:
“I am happy here, I like the club, everyone here, and, after, I will see what happens. It is not only down to me.
I have been here almost four years now, and I am pleased with the way it has been. It could have been even better but I am still happy.”
