Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas was disappointed after his side threw away a 1-0 lead against English champions Manchester City, and ultimately lost the game 2-1.
The manager was however gracious in the face of defeat and believes that Tottenham currently deserve their league position.
Tottenham travelled to the Etihad looking for their second win in Manchester this season. Spurs had already managed a win at Old Trafford against Manchester United, and now targeted a victory over the reigning English champions.
Having taken the lead in the first half through Steven Caulker, Tottenham looked the better team for the majority of the game. The hosts were frustrated by a disciplined Tottenham back-four and a solid and tight midfield.
The likes of David Silva, Yaya Toure, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez were frustrated as Tottenham denied them clear attempts on goal.
The second half was more of the same, but City managed to score an equalizer through some individual brilliance when Sergio Aguero tucked the ball past http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953 after some excellent work in the box.
The striker did not have his best outing in a City jersey, but scored the goal from nowhere, which blew the game wide open.

Villas-Boas was disappointed at losing the game, but believes that Tottenham’s 7th position in the league table paints a true picture of their form and performances. Talking to reporters, he said:
“We are where we deserve to be. What is happening at the moment is that the top teams are escaping. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, Manchester United and Manchester City are on for the title but they take three Champions League spots but the rest of the pack is very tight.”
“Fixtures such as this one against the champions are very difficult. We were more balanced in the second half and found some good gaps but it’s a pity that in the end we didn’t get what we deserved.”
