Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has hailed players Aaron Lennon and Gylfi Sigurdsson for their performances in recent games, especially in the 0-3 victory over Fulham on Saturday.
Three consecutive victories for Tottenham have put them at 4th spot on the Premier League table, level on points with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and West Brom in what has been the most intense and competitive season in ages.
There are only 5 points separating the 10th placed and 3rd placed teams, and with more than half the season left to go, it is very difficult to predict who will finish where.
Tottenham have really picked themselves up in recent weeks, especially after a very dismal early November. The club had suffered three consecutive defeats in the Premier League, losing games to Wigan Athletic, Manchester City and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, in that order.
Now, Spurs have managed to bounce back after managing successive victories against the likes of West Ham United, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and most recently Fulham.
Manager Andre Villas-Boas is delighted by his team’s recent form, and has hailed the quality and character of his players to bounce back and get back among the top 4 of England’s elite.
The manager was especially full of praise for wingers http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aaron-Lennon-c3062 and Gylfi Sigurdsson, who have been impressive in recent games and very instrumental in Spurs’ resurgence.
Speaking to the press after the 0-3 victory over Fulham, the Portuguese praise his attacking duo for their efforts and contributions. He said:
“Lennon has been incredible. Sometimes you think of him as being in the shadow of Bale, we tend to forget how much he works for the team. But he puts his heart into it every time and he is having a tremendous season.”
“That was excellent for Gylfi. It has been a hard time for him because at the beginning of the season he was involved a little bit more. But, like Lennon, he is another excellent professional.”
“He is working hard to try to get back to a level we recognised last year with Swansea. Against Fulham, we saw him at this level.”
Both players have scored two goals each so far this season, and have a number of assist between them. With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043.
