Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has responded to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Lloris-c16408, and insists that they don’t concern him.
The France national team manager once again was critical of the Portuguese manager and claimed that Lloris had been losing his sharpness ever since he joined Tottenham.
The manager feels that the player’s form will drop and affect his national team form due to the rotation system at Spurs.
Deschamps had never been in favour of the move in the first place, especially after Lloris had to bide his time on the Spurs bench due to Brad Friedel’s immense form in front of goal.
Both players have been competing with the number 1 jersey, but Friedel is currently the preferred option for Villas-Boas, who has told Lloris to be patient on more than one occasion.
The France head coach had also previously questioned Lloris’ decision to move to White Hart Lane, and said that due to a lack of playing time, Lloris will lose his sharpness and form. He also slated the player’s role at the club and said that a player of
Lloris’ stature deserves to be playing more games.
When asked how he felt about Deschamps comments, Villas-Boas responded:
“It goes in one ear and comes out the other.”
Lloris made his first high-profile goalkeeping error on Thursday night in the Europa League game against Maribor, where he failed to clear from a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kyle-Naughton-c21563 back pass. This had led to Maribor’s only goal of the night.
However, Lloris is still expected to feature in the Spurs team that will travel to Manchester City tomorrow. Villas-Boas said:
"Sometimes things like this happen. It happened to us at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Petr-Cech-c29837 last year. It's mistakes that make you evolve as a player and I have no problem with that.”
"It could happen to any goalkeeper during any game. It will not affect my decision-making."
Tottenham had gone on to win the game through an impressive http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359 hat-trick. This marked Tottenham’s first victory in the group stages of the competition, and takes them up to second spot in Group J.
