It seems that most MLB TV broadcasts have 2 or 3 announcers.

  1. Because he is announcing god.

  2. That's probably how it was when he started back in 1950.

  3. I've been listening to Vin Scully call Dodger games since 1958. For the first 25-30 of those years, he did 7 innings of each game. Those were primarily on radio, as few Dodger games were on TV in those days. Since then, he has taken more and more time off, now doing only about 100 games or so a season, but the games he does do, he calls all 9 innings on TV, and the first couple are simulcast on radio as well.

He has NEVER worked with a second announcer in the booth at the same time. He provides his own commentary, and there has never been anyone better, either calling the game or "doing color".

  4. HAHA i noticed the same thing just now as i was watching the end of the game!  its wierd at times like when he was commenting on how ramiero kept hitting his head on the bat and nobody was backing him up. lol good catch but im not so sure why.

  5. what you dont like him, he has been the voice of the DODGERS forever, just like Chick Herrn was for the LAKERS. LEGENDS

  6. he should have someone wit him in the booth like joe morgan or something if he did then that would be the broadcasting duo ever
