Vince Young kicked out of team's facility
Just a day after the Tennessee Titans’ heartbreaking overtime loss to the Washington Redskins, head coach Jeff Fisher acknowledged that he asked the team’s starting quarterback, Vince Young, to leave the squad’s facilities on Monday 22 November.

According to a recent report from ESPN.com, after learning of Young’s presence at the Titans’ practice facility, Fisher told Tennessee’s QBs coach, Dowell Loggains, to inform Young that he was not welcome on the team’s premises.

According to Chris Mortensen, a senior NFL analyst at ESPN, Fisher confirmed that he had told his players that Young had given up on his team during their most recent loss and, thus, would not be permitted to attend the team meeting at the facility.

On Monday, the Titans placed the fifth-year play-caller on injured reserve, as he is expected to undergo season-ending surgery on his right thumb. As such, Fisher insinuated there was no reason for Young to be present at the facility.

On Tuesday, the Titans released a statement regarding Young’s standing with the team. “Yesterday, he was informed by a coach at the facility not to attend Monday’s team meeting and was free to leave. The intention was to be able to talk to the team about Young’s
situation and how the team would move forward,” the statement read.
“Players that are on injured reserve are not required to attend team meetings. As of today, [Young] has been placed on injured reserve and all the same rules apply to him as to any other player in that category.”

The decision was made after a confrontational exchange between Fisher and Young occurred in the locker room following Sunday’s loss. Fisher was apparently, and understandably, upset that the QB had thrown his jersey and pads into the crowd after the defeat.

Although Young will now be sidelined for the rest of the season, he stated that he remains frustrated by the fact that Fisher would not allow him to re-enter Sunday’s game following his thumb injury.

Rookie quarterback Rusty Smith, who played in Young’s absence Sunday, will start for the Titans when they take on the Houston Texans this Sunday 28 November.
