Vince Young practices but is still day-to-day
Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young returned to practice for the first time after spraining his ankle and his knee in a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars back on 18 October.
"He is coming back. That's my boy, man. When you saw that hit (against the Jaguars) and how it turned out, it looked like he was going to be gone for a while, Tony Romo-type stuff," Titans tight end Bo
Scaife said, referring to the recent incident in which Romo broke his clavicle. "But he is coming back and he feels like he needs to get back on track himself. I am happy he is back and feeling good.''
Titans head coach Jeff Fisher, and Young himself, were a little more reserved about Young's condition and whether or not he will play this Sunday as the Titans' fifth-year quarterback remains day-to-day.
"I am going to take it day by day. As long as it continues to get better I will continue to do more things,'' Young said. "We'll know Sunday how I officially feel.''
"I am not a selfish player," Young added. "I want to be in full shape for my teammates, so I decided not to jeopardize anything and take it easy and be safe."
"He's getting better," Fisher said about his team's quarterback. "He's improving and he was good enough to get through one of our periods today. We'll take him each day, and if he's able to move around
in the pocket and be effective under center, then he'll have a chance to play."
Young has a 30-15 record as a starter and the Titans are off to a great start this season with a record of 5-2 – good enough for top spot in the AFC South – as they appraoch the half-way point in their
schedule with a meeting against the 2-5 San Diego Chargers.
