Vincent Kompany believes Manchester City’s progress has helped the Premier League grow
Manchester City captain and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vincent-Kompany-c36184 believes that the rise of Manchester City over the last couple of years has helped the Premier League grow as an international franchise.
City have successfully gone from being a mid-table side, to being a team that are capable of giving just about any team in the world a run for their money. Following a change in ownership in 2008, the team had a lot of money pumped into it and this has helped
the club recruit some of the best players in the world.
The likes of Yaya Toure, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero, all joined the City squad, due to the funds that the team now possesses. These players are easily amongst the best in the world and their presence in the Premier League has helped more
and more fans become fans of the League.
Kompany didn’t reserve all his applause for City, as he believes the changes that Tottenham Hotspur have made recently have helped them develop as a team and benefit the league as well.
When talking about City and Tottenham and their contributions to the Premier League, Kompany is quoted to have said: "I think Tottenham and ourselves doing well in the past few years has been great. Had it just been the same four sides challenging each season,
it would have damaged the game here.

"Now there are maybe six teams capable of winning the title and that can only be great for English football."
Kompany believes that City have just what it takes to compete with the best in the world and based on their finish to the Premier League season last year, he feels the team is capable of going all the way this season.
The defender then went on to add:
"We finished equal-second last season so there is only one spot to go for this year - and that's to win the title"
"It's a big challenge - but why not? There is pressure and expectation on us but that's what we want.”
Over the course of the last couple of months, City have been winning critics over all across the globe. The team has been putting in some brilliant performances and these performances have helped them grow as a team.
The team has now gone ahead and turned around the fact that Manchester United were the biggest team in Manchester, as they themselves have given them a run for their money this time around.
All in all, City seem to be more than capable of going all the way and winning a trophy or two this season.
