Vincent Kompany not content with just taking over Manchester United in the league

Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany has stated that he will not be satisfied with ‘just’ finishing above Manchester United and wants more success and glory with the high spending club.
It is for the first time in almost 20 years that Manchester City are above Manchester United at this point of any Premier League campaign, which is a huge achievement for a side which was battling relegation only two seasons ago.
Since the installment of new owner Sheikh Mansour and the takeover by Abu Dhabi United Group, Manchester City have been transformed into one of the top forces in Europe. The new owners have spent over 1 billion pounds since their arrival and have signed 13
top notch players in the span of two years. The entire outlook of the team has changed and City, under manager Roberto Mancini, have managed to defeat defending Champions Chelsea twice in a span of 10 months.
Their 2-1 victory over Newcastle United, thanks to an impressive goal by Adam Johnson, made them skip past arch-rivals Manchester United, following Sir Alex’s men failing to find the win in their trip to the Stadium of Light. Their
back to back wins against Chelsea and Newcastle United have made their side cling onto the number 2 spot. It is for the first time in a long time that City have taken over their Manchester counterparts, who have dominated the Premier League since its birth
in 1992. Manchester United have won 11 out of 18 Premier League seasons, making it the most successful English club on the planet.
However, City defender Vincent Kompany was unconcerned by their table position and refused to be carried away.
"It is not about Manchester United. It is about us. As long as we remain in our present position we will be happy regardless of where United are.” stated the Manchester City player. Manchester City’s assistant manager Brian Kidd
also shared the same views as his defender.
“The view is one Kidd endorses wholeheartedly. Being above United has no impact on the players. Manchester United have been so successful down the years, credit to them. But our season is about what we do. Don't worry about any
other club. That is the message the boss is sending out.", claimed the Manchester City assistant manager Brian Kidd.
Manchester City have become a serious threat to the so-called big four and have already defeated Liverpool and Chelsea 3-0 and 1-0 respectively. If they keep their winning streak alive, they may well prove to be hot to handle.
Manchester City however still have to face Manchester United, who defeated their rivals 3 out of 4 times last season.
City currently enjoy one of the fiercest attacking lineups in the form of in-form Carlos Tevez, right winger James Milner and left winger Adam Johnson. Johnson has become an integral part of the side and has been in the best form
of his young career. He has already scored once in two appearances in the Europa league and scored the winning goal against Newcastle United over the weekend. In his 4 appearances for English National side, Johnson has scored 2 times and has established himself
as a first choice left winger at the age of 23.
Manchester City will be travelling to Bloomfield Road to face an in-form Blackpool side, who have recently come off with a famous 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield.
