Manchester City took on Manchester United in the Community Shield game, this past Sunday. The game was being referred to the first real test that both the teams had to face prior to the start of the season. Despite Manchester City taking the lead in the
game, it was United who ended up on top of things.
Vincent Kompany, who is going to be sharing some of the blame for his team’s loss, has urged City to look beyond their defeat and focus on the upcoming season instead.

from Luis http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299 confirmed United’s claim to silverware, even before the start of the season.
Kompany has now gone on to insist that the game was great test for the team and helped him and his teammates boost their fitness. However, he also claims that a lot of attention shouldn’t be focused on the Community Shield game, as the game against Swansea
is more important at this point.
When talking about the game, Kompany is quoted to have said: "If anything it’s good that we have another 90 minutes in our legs. It wasn’t our best performance today but next week on Monday is going to be the big one"
He then went on to admit that winning would have been good, but having lost doesn’t change much, as the Premier League is still the team’s priority.
"It would have been nice to win it, obviously, but the fact that we didn’t win it is not going to change anything about how we work toward the Swansea game.
The defender then went on to take the optimistic route, as he shrugged away the option of talking about the game any further and turned his attention to all the competitions that City were going to be a part of this coming season.
Kompany claimed that the team has a lot of potential and this potential could help them land all the trophies that they contest for this coming term.
The City defender ended by stating: “It was close. We’ve got a lot of potential so come the league, come the Champions League, come the FA Cup we’ll be ready for it, there’s no doubt about it."
