Despite financial worries, the Olympique de Marseille president is keen on bringing good players to the Stade Velodrome in order to avoid the embarrassing performances that have put Champions League hopes in jeopardy.
Still in four competition a few weeks back, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 on April 14, Marseille are not really fighting for
anything.
Languishing in ninth place in the Ligue 1 standings, Didier Deschamps’ side will find it hard to qualify for Europa League let alone the Champions League. However, for president Vincent Labrune, it’s still not over as the supremo feels that the team can
still manage to play in the Europa League next season.
Already planning life without the Champions League Labrune knows that he will definitely lose a few players in the summer transfer window.
While talking to RTL, Labrune said that he will not force any player to stay at the club if they want to leave.
“We have player contracts and if we want to keep them, they will be kept. Keeping a player who wants to leave, it’s not my thing. But if someone wants to leave when we want to keep him, then absolutely, it will be up to us to sell him.”
The likes of Loic Remy, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steve-Mandanda-c34177 and Andre Ayew have been hotly linked with moves away from the Velodrome this summer. The departure of the trio will considerably weaken Marseille.
Les Phoceens are already keeping tabs on the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mendes-c25206 (Le Havre).
Though it would be hard to bring all these players to the Velodrome, Labrune is still optimistic of signing a few players this summer.
Le Parisien reports that Marseille are hot on the trail of Hamouma who has been in excellent form for the Normandy side.
Argentine forward, Pablo Hernandez (http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentinos-Juniors-c38415) is another player linked with a move to the Rhone side so a lot of activity might happen at Marseille this summer.
