The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 president knows that the club is in for a tough time and has drawn a financial roadmap for the future sustenance of the club
After winning the Coupe de la Ligue, Olympique de Marseille are only waiting for a few points before officially saying Au Revoir to a season that has been a painful one for the club’s fans.
However, the main question is that how the club would fare next season especially after it has become clear that Marseille will not be playing in the UEFA Champions League.
For club president Vincent Labrune, the economic condition of the club is important to shape its future. While talking to the media, the Marseille supremo said that the club needs to maintain a high budget in order to be more competitive in the league.
If they are able to take hold of the finances, Marseille will be able to address other issues with the priority of resolving the dispute between coach Didier Deschamps and sporting director Jose Anigo. Under these conditions, the two cannot live under the
same roof and Labrune knows that he has to sort out these things.
Didier Deschamps could leave the club when the season ends and Labrune knows that releasing the Frenchman from his contract would be more feasible for both parties.
“If we can move forward in the first half of May, we will not be late. You can even talk about a consistent timetable.”
However, the club will be forced to look for cheaper options in the upcoming summer transfer window. Though Marseille have identified many targets both from Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, Les Phoceens might have trouble luring them to the Stade Velodrome.
Steeve Elana, a player they want to sign is more likely to join Lille instead while Bakaye Traore is keen on a move to AC Milan this summer.
As far as the current campaign is concerned, Marseille are left with nothing to play for but they have no time to lose either. Already, Vincent Labrune and Jose Anigo have their work cut out and they will have to work extra shifts to make sure that the new
season starts on a strong note.
