Vincenzo Montella appointed new coach of AS Roma
Former Roma striker and Roma Under-15 coach Vincenzo Montella has been named as the new coach of Serie A strugglers AS Roma.
It has been reported that the Italian will be in charge of Roma until the end of the current 2010-11 season. On Monday, Claudio Ranieri resigned from his post as Roma coach after a series of poor performances from the Roman giants and it was heavily speculated
that Vincenzo Montella may be named the new coach on a temporary basis.
The 36-year-old has no experience of coaching a first team but his presence will definitely lift the mood in the Roma camp. The former Italy international played 251 games for the Lupi and scored 102 goals.
