Vincenzo Montella insists Roma have to beat AC Milan to strengthen Champions League hopes
AS Roma caretaker manager, Vincenzo Montella, has insisted that his side should beat AC Milan in order to have any chances of qualifying for UEFA Champions League. He stated that the team has to play with full potential and a win will be vital for them at
this stage of the season.

“I am expecting a Milan side who wants to get a result and I think they will be tranquil in light of the Scudetto. But we will do our maximum so we can prevail. We want to win, we have to win. We know anything can happen. We have the resources and we have
to prepare this game for the best. We cannot allow ourselves to play under our potential. We must believe,” he quoted.
The Italian praised his side’s recent performances after a poor start to the season under manager Claudio Ranieri. Giallorossi have seen a revival under Montella and are now on the verge of European qualification. The manager urged his side to rise up to
the occasion and hoped for a positive result.
“We believed when we were seven points behind, and now we have the last obstacle. It's super decisive against Milan. But we know the team has never missed anything against the big teams in terms of emotion,” the former Roma striker concluded.
AS Roma are set to face AC Milan in their next Serie A fixture at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Saturday, May 7. The Rossoneri need a point from the game to secure their first Scudetto since 2004.
