Vincenzo Nibali not happy with Bradley Wiggins
Vincenzo Nibali of Team Liquigas-Cannondale is a real big threat to Bradley Wiggin’s overall classifications as the Italian is targeting the mountain’s stages of the race.
The duo was neck to neck during the stage 10 of the Tour and Bradley once again proved his dominance after finishing ahead of Vincenzo at the race.
Wiggins fell more than 3 minutes short of the race leader Thomas Voeckler and occupied the 13th position with Vincenzo securing the 15th spot.
Things got heated up between the two cyclists and Nibali claims that Wiggins insulted him after the contest.
“When we crossed the line, Bradley turned and looked at me," Nibali said. "If he wants to be a great champion, he needs to have a bit of respect for his adversaries. Sometimes turning around and looking into your face is an insult".
He told L’Equipe that the British cyclist has not impressed him and also pointed out that the real strength of Team Sky will be tested during the uphill stages.
"You need to show a bit of respect for your adversaries. Right now, we know, they're going very well, but the wheel can turn for everybody," he said.
"We've never had riders kicking and punching each other as happens in football. There's always been respect for rivals".
Bradley is leading the stage 10 classifications with a healthy margin of 1 minute and 53 seconds on the reigning Tour de France champion, Cadel Evans.
Christopher Horner of Team Sky is holding firm at the third position with Vincenzo Nibali of Team Liquigas-Cannondale further behind at the fourth position.
Nibali is 2 minute and 23 seconds behind Bradley but the Italian is focussed to overcome his British rival after the final general classifications.
