Viola Da Gamba, a bright prospect for the Lingfieldpark.Co.UK Median Auction Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Lingfield
The Class 5 Lingfieldpark.Co.UK Median Auction Maiden Fillies’ Stakes are to be held at Lingfield over a mile on Wednesday, 4th April. Taking part in the £2, 264 event are six three to four-year-olds. The entire lineup is very lightly raced with
the exception of Viola Da Gamba, Alhaarth’s three-year-old bay filly out of mare Addaya. She has already raced her seasonal debut and before that had ventured out thrice during the previous season.
She was the 5/4 favourite third place finisher in the Win Big With Betdaq Multiples Median Auction Maiden Stakes on 21st March at Kempton over seven furlongs.
The race was won by Dellbuoy who had to snatch away the victory from Emman Bee who was reeling in for the wire by just a neck’s margin. The winner was paired up with Jemma Marshall while the runner up was guided through the track by Martin Lane.
She has not raced at Lingfield before and came out of the previous season with a second score under her belt. On 21st August, Viola Da Gamba finished second in the Toteswinger/British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Folkestone over
seven furlongs.
The race was claimed by the 15/8 favourite of the race, Ziefhd, who was riding with Chris Catlin. Compromising with victory by 1 ¾ lengths was Viola Da Gamba with Shane Kelly onboard.
Concluding the race third on the lineup of fourteen was Ashbina.
The two races before this one resulted in a sixth and seventh position.
Another entry who has raced the seasonal debut is Russian Rumba, Whipper’s three-year-old bay filly out of mare Pink Sovietstaia. It was not only the seasonal debut rather was the career debut too.
She finished fifth in the 32Red Casino Median Auction Maiden Fillies’ Stakes on 22nd March at Kempton over a mile. The race was won by Lady Macduff while the 4/9 favourite of the race, Safarjal, qualified as the runner up.
Those who are in for their seasonal debuts today are not to be taken lightly either as after resting for some while they can turn out to be potential threats.
Viola Da Gamba has pretty assured chances of intimidating the lineup and how successfully she manages doing that will surface soon.
