I've just received one for a question I posted 5 MONTHS AGO!!! I could appeal, however, I can't remember what I put in the question and as the question has been deleted I can't refresh my memory. How can a question from 5 months ago suddenly cause offence?

  1. I read yesterday about someone who had her account deleted from an answer 2 years ago.  It was her main e-mail account too.  I think that this is very naughty of Yahoo.

Your problem from 5 months ago also highlights that too.

I live in fear of losing my e-mail for something petty.  I have lots of important stuff on it.  : -  (

  2. the CIA  carefully sifts to all yahoo questions.

  3. aww...don't worry....it's because somebody has reported it & Yahoo act upon the report.

i got one today for asking a question about discount priced tickets at Empire Cinema's for Senior people....& there wasn't even any answers...lol - how amazing is that?!!

p.s. i agree with your answer on smoking!!

EDIT:  YIPPPEEEE - Yahoo has just restored my question & quashed the violation!!  still got no answers though...but never mind i suppose....i do ask boring ones sometimes...ha ha!

  4. It can be a little kafkaesque at times.

  5. I got one just for saying "bless" !

  6. Got me.

At least they are allowing you to appeal; mine won't let me.

Mine wasn't even an offense either.  How does a picture of a kitten violate any rules?  Especially when I was showing it to ask about the health of the kitten?

But it got deleted as well.

Yahoo! Answers is really losing it with the deletions.  And probably isn't allowing appeals anymore because they got tired of dealing with all of them because their own site is worthless now with all these updates they keep trying to do.

I don't even know why they do it anyway.  The only problem I had was that so many answers were deleted wrongly because somebody has a temper and doesn't like disagreement.

All they have to do is make it something like 5 people have to report before its tossed, and that will clear the whole problem up.  That way no one has too much power and yet if enough people see the problem its still gotten rid of.

And then they can lay off s******g themselves up on their own website.

  7. I've not had a violation from that far back, the longest has probably been a couple of weeks. It could be that the wrong person saw it while going through the resolved questions, or like Bee says it could be a contact going through your q&a.

  8. Yes shady trawls peoples answers from months back when he gets a flea in his ear.

Which is most days, seeing as he is riddled with nits.

  9. They have a backlog - keep on insisting that they give you the details or re-instate your question and don't be afraid to say that they are using people from non english speaking countries to vet the questions - in fact make that a point and that it is unfair! Say that you are being victimised. I had one re-instated a couple of days ago and i have now insisted that they remove the person who victimised me as i was able to prove that this creature was actually doing that! EEC legislation can be useful sometimes!

  10. I know I had a question about a nice tribute song I made for Obama, but then it got deleted before I could share it with everyone.

  11. It's been going on for a while now,,some people who don't like your opinion trawl through your questions and answers and report them.

Keep them private hun,,and if you have, clear out your fans..You never know,it could be one of them.

  12. me, too...offence notice...cops are running alittle slower trying to play ketchup...or someones in the archives getting ready to bounce..

  13. 5 months ago you say, try 2 years ago.  I received two violations for two questions I posted 2 years ago.

  14. I know it is strange I got a few mystery ones like that lately Try the appeal at least they will just send back yes your thing breaks the rules. I think they are still wrong of some of mine but they are the ones that matter.  I have a choice of course not ask are answer at all. What would their sponsors think if everyone just stopped using yahoo in protest over these ?Dr Who violation notices as I call them.
