For a while now, I've been having violent dreams. In these dreams, it's never me thats committing the act of violence but instead, it's aganist me. In most of my violent dreams it involves me in my school during a school shooting. They're not usually bloody and gory, though. I did have this one particularly disturbing and gory dream, where I was walking into a movie theather and a man brutally stabbed me.

Please help me try to figure out what these dreams could mean ?

  1. a man brutally stabbed you = being criticized, disciplined

Normally, when you have violent dream.  It is a symbolic way to release anger, and hatred. However, in your case, you are feeling helpless, the act of violence signifies things you can't do in reality.

Being stabbed by a man suggests that you may have received words that hurt you deeply in reality and that is why you projected the violent dreams all together to vent out the feeling.

  2. According to your recurrent dream theme of destruction, I think that you're a person who worries a lot and is distraught but qualms that are either big or small. I can't come to a conclusion on which.

Many people get overly anxious and about small things.

You may feel that your ego is being controled by an outside force and feel helpless in some situations because of this.

School is suposed to be a safe place, where your protection is normally a given. Intrusion into this education setting, may mean that you think something is interfering with your educational progress. Due to the fact your description of your dreams, are short, my understanding of them sit on the balance of imagination, and therefore I can not make sufficent deductions.

If you want, you can write down the imagery in your dreams, and then next to them, write how they make you feel. Look closely for any rational connections, and surely you'll find a solution, you can use in reality, to conquer your unconscious fears.

  3. if you were gaurded as a child and have just moved out or something similar. sorry you didnt put any info for it. or a fear of moving to a place you see as dangerous.

  4. Violence in dreams can be a sign of inner conflict, something you are trying to come to terms with. It can represent all different kinds of conflict or fears. These dreams in particular may be symbolizing your fears about the unpredictability of life, or the feeling of helplessness to change how things are. It may be that you are maturing and becoming aware of things outside of the "comfortable, safe bubble" you have previously lived in? Or it may be that you feel you don't have control of your direction in life, or you may have frustration over things that you feel are unfair which are happening to you or around you. You may have a person or persons in your life which are constricting your ability to do what you want or who judge you or don't understand you. Or it may be society in general that is constricting. Without knowing you personally, it is hard to know what this might represent for you. I find that concentrating on the emotions and sensations of the dream can help you determine what it means to you. How do you feel when the violence occurs? If you feel afraid and hurt that may be the 'fear' I talked about; if you feel angry and like fighting back that may be an expression of frustration about something you feel is unfair. I don't know what your dreams mean, but I hope you are able to work through it.

  5. It is a manifestation of your own fear that you can't protect yourself.

I had many dreams like that after I got robbed at gunpoint. What did I do? I started taking Karate and Self-Defense. It builds internal confidence and external as well.

We all have our fears so don't be ashamed, just be proactive.

  6. I think you sometimes feel like you are swimming against the tide. Things don't go right and you feel all your efforts are wasted. So why bother. You have a downer on yourself and will cut your nose off to spite your face. Sometimes you feel you want to prove something to somebody to show you can if you want to. Don't let people get to you,  you are actually a lot more intelligent than the people trying to put you down.
