Violin song?

Im going to the middle school next year, and i need a song to play, so i can impress the conductor so i can qualify for the Studio Orchestra. Do u have any song recomended that has advance techniques like playing in 3rd positions, spots for vibrato, etc.? thx very much

  1. the vivaldi a minor concerto is very good as well as some of the seitz pupils concertos. other more difficult pieces would be the mozart d major concerto, and g major concertos. alot depends on your ability on the violin. without knowing what type of repertiore you already have, it is entirely possible that these pieces might be too difficult.


  2. Well first of all, violin pieces are not "songs."  That's what little kids call them.  If you want to impress the conductor, refer to your "song" as a piece, or a "work" or a sonata or the name of the work, but anything but  a "song."

  3. Any piece by Vivaldi is really cool. You should buy a Suzuki book with Vivaldi in it. You could also try Minuet by L. Boccherini, its very popular and sounds very nice.Good luck.
