Everything you've got! And if you keep music in your case, is it in sheet form or book form? Extra strings? what key? Please be specific like that, but I don't need brand names or anything.

I'm planning to make a miniature violin (about 9 inches long) with it's case, and all the stuff that goes with it.

Thanks everyone!!

  1. What do I keep in my violin case?  A better question would be what I don't keep in my violin case!

    -violin

    -bow

-pictures of violins, friends, other music related things

-$20-40 (you never know when you will get hungry)

    -lots of rosin!

-strings (two e strings and one a, d, and g)

    -scale book

    -etude book

-solo pieces (piano score and all)

    -sponge/shoulder rest

    -cleaning cloth

    -dampit/humidifier

-pins that I got at violin/orchestra competitions

    -metronome/tuner

    -hygrometer

    -pencil

    -mutes (all 5 of them)

    -water bottle

    -programs from concerts

    -occasionally music magazines like Strings

-the key to my violin case

    -cell phone and ipod

-other things from time to time

  2. Ok, here's what's currently in my fiddle case:

    Violin

    2 bows

    Shoulder rest

bandanna (used as cleaning cloth for fiddle)

    in storage compartment:

    rosin

    heavy brass mute

    Intellitouch electronic tuner

    in outside storage pocket:

copy of "The Portland Collection" - book of fiddle tunes

  3. These items should work well for a decorative art piece, if that's what you're doing:

    1. Violin (I mean, duh)

    2. Bow - this should be secured by a flap against the top half of the case. Almost all cases allow two bows.

    3. Rosin - in a small compartment at the narrow end of the case.

These are the only 'visible' items, technically speaking. The other items are usually stowed in the zip compartment at the top of the case:

    4. Shoulder rest

    5. Sheet music (it might not fit some cases)

    6. Extra strings (I myself keep an entire set, plus the two top strings - hence for violin it would be G, D, 2xA, 2xE)

    7. Tuner (I never use this)

    Other items you can try:

    8. Cleaning cloth (most commonly wadded up in between the body and fingerboard of the violin itself)

    9. Photo (many violinists and violists I know put photos of loved ones and friends inside the top half of the case, where the bow is

    10. Cat (maybe not)

    Hope I helped.

  4. i play the cello but its basically the same(i used to play the violin until my brother broke mine so i changed instruments!)

    ITEMS IN A VIOLIN CASE:

    1. The Violin it Self

    2. The Bow

    3. Rosin

4 Some Type of Cleaning Cloth

    5. A Mute its Looks Like This http://www.amazon.com/Glaesel-Violin-Ult...

    6. A Chromatic Tuner

    7. Sheet Music if I am being lazy and not putting in the pocket outside of the case

    8. Extra strings

    9. An Extra Bridge

    10. Maybe A Small Bottle of Violin Wood Polishing Finish(wood polish basically

thats about it hope that helps!!!

oh and depending on what the case looks like a shoulder rest but usually you wouldn't want that inside the case!

  5. i keep many things in my violin case:

    the violin

    2 bows

    rosin

    violin pitch pipe

    extra bridges

    one set of strings

    like some extra individual strings

    cleaning cloth

a silk sunflower on top for decoration

    straps for carrying the case

protective cloth(to separate the violin from the bows)

    shoulder rest on top

anyway thats it. good look on making ur miniature violin

    hope i helped :):):)
