Viper5900 question!!! HELP!?

ok i just bought a viper5900 alarm for my 92 ford explorer today.. ive always wanted this car alarm so im happy.. but i just ran into a snag.. my explorer has a security chip thing so you cant start the car w/out the chip being inside the little thing ( idk what its called lol ).. will i still able to start the car with the auto-start from my alarm w/out the chip being inside??

  1. Is the "92" a typo?  Transponder keys weren't used on the Explorer at that time.  Do you mean an 02 Explorer?

    If it does have the transponder key, then you won't be able to remote-start the vehicle without a bypass module.  There are several different options for this, including "key-box" modules where you actually install one of your keys with the remote start, or more expensive modules that don't require you to give up a key.
