Question:

Virago 250 - Replacing Shift rod and Shift Shaft Assy?

Hello,

I have a 2006 Yamaha Virago 250. I broke the Shift Rod with a rough shift into first yesterday, and while pushing the bike back home I bent the Shift Shaft Assy. How much should it cost to replace both those parts including maintenance fees? I'd like to get a ballpark number before I bring the bike into the shop.

Thanks,

David

  1. whew a job that is. pull the motor, split the cases, R&R the shaft with a new one. Better left to the professionals usually if you never have done this. It's not easy for 1st timers

shops here are 45-75 an hour
