Virender Sehwag aims to make a big impact at the ICC World Cup 2011

The explosive batsman from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 four years ago.
Sehwag has been churning out big scores in the longest format of the game, but in ODIs he has not been able to bat consistently.
With the World Cup barely a week away he is set to take on the best in the world with an aim of batting throughout the 50 overs.
"I think I never played 50 overs in one-day cricket, maximum I faced is 42-44 overs," a relaxed Sehwag said in Bangalore. "This time I'll try to bat 50 overs if I can. I have been trying for 10 years, I'm still trying."
He hopes to emulate the greatest batsman of the modern generation, Sachin Tendulkar, who made the first and only double-century so far in the format; the master blaster from Mumbai batted out the entire 50 overs against South
Africa last year.
"Sachin has played 50 overs many times, not just once, but he could make 200 only once because it is not easy to make 200 in a one-dayer."
Sehwag’s devil-may-care attitude has won him accolades, yet means that he has failed to deliver consistent good starts. Like most batsmen of his genre he can be an absolute zero one day and end up being zero the next. The cavalier
approach has cost him his wicket many times at the international level and he hopes to fix the problem soon.
He is happy with the strength of the Indian batting line-up, along with Tendulkar and him the hosts boast of the best batting in the tournament and Sehwag hopes that the big hitters would deliver once he gets the team off to
a rollicking start.
"I have Yuvraj [Singh], http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028, [Suresh] Raina, [Virat] Kohli and Yusuf [Pathan] in the middle order, so I can go after the bowling straight from the first ball, but nowadays I'm a giving a little bit of respect for first 4-5
overs," he said.
He stated that he might go in with a slightly conservative mindset at the start of the innings and then go after the bowling once he has his eye in. The batsman thinks that this way he can take on the bowlers to make sure he
gets the team off to a good start, with the rest of the workload taken over by the string of big hitters in the middle-order.
Sehwag is likely to open the innings with left handed http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gautam-Gambhir-c58623. The two have been a real test for the opposing bowlers once in full flow, the same is to be expected when the tournament begins. The tracks in India are generally
full of runs and that is set to make life real tough for the bowlers who are bowling at the free-scoring batsmen from the host nation.
Sehwag has also reposed confidence in his bowling attack and thinks that the bowling line-up led by the left armer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zaheer-Khan-c98452 and Harbhajan Singh would do the damage and keep up the work of the batsmen when the team needs them
to strike.
