The swashbuckling http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League, has blamed the Feroz Shah Kotla track for his side’s three-wicket defeat to Royal Challengers Bangalore
last night.
"The ball was not coming on to the bat. It's difficult to hit boundaries, until the ball is there to be hit. They cut a lot of grass, which we didn't want, but we have to carry on with whatever wicket we get," Sehwag said after the match.
While chasing an intimidating target of 161 to win, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Virat-Kohli-c95424 struck a whirlwind half-century off just 38 deliveries to take Bangalore home with three balls to spare and three wickets in hands.
Sehwag also blamed his bowling attack for conceding too many runs in the form of boundaries. "I think we gave too many boundary balls in the first six overs,” said the prolific batsman while talking to the post match media conference. “They
were not hitting boundaries but still they were getting boundaries because of our bad bowling,” he added further.
The Daniel Vettori-led Bangalore side made the best use of field restrictions in the first six overs, compiling 65 runs inside the powerplay overs despite losing their opener, Tillakaratne Dilshan, on the second ball of the innings. The
hosts made a quick comeback picking up four wickets for 25 runs in five overs, leaving Bangalore 107 for 5 in the 13th over. In the end, the tourists kept their nerves while sealing a three-wicket win.
The Daredevils cannot afford a single defeat in the tournament from here on and Sehwag conceded that this will put the side under immense pressure in the ensuing games. He added, "Pressure on Delhi now so hopefully we will do well in next
games. We have to back ourselves and correct our basics."
Kohli was adjudged as the man of the match for his sparkling performance with the bat. While talking to the media after the match, Kohli said, "I've always looked to bat No. 3, I can get myself in and play my shots. I'm loving it. I was
really keen we win this match. We lost three in a row and now winning two back to back gives us some momentum."
